Blurred Borders

Here's an interesting follow up to the US Iran story.
Vincent Cannistraro, a former CIA counter-terrorism operations chief said Mr Bush had not yet made up his mind about the use of direct military action against Iran.

"There is a battle for Bush's soul over that," he said, adding that Karl Rove, the president's chief political adviser is adamantly opposed to a war.
Can I resist a cheap joke about the growing recognition that you need to battle for the President's soul because there's no point battling for his brain? Oh, too late.

Yes, anyway. As I mentioned yesterday, we've been here before. No decision has been taken? Perhaps it's true this time. Who knows?

Mr Cannistraro has more to say though and this is the interesting bit.
He said Iranian-backed guerrillas had been involved in an attack in Sistan-Baluchistan last month in which over 20 Iraqi government officials were killed and the governor of the provincial capital was wounded.
Assuming this is true, are we agreed that this is an example of Iranian-backed terrorism?

OK, it's not true. Here's what he actually said.
He said US-backed Baluchi Sunni guerrillas had been involved in an attack in Sistan-Baluchistan last month in which over 20 Iranian government officials were killed and the governor of the provincial capital was wounded.
Still terrorism? If you changed your mind, feel free to explain why.
